Migration of the control system of the Water Treatment Station Waterworks on the basis of SIMATIC S7-400

PRO-CONTROL started working with Wodociągi Płockie in the mid-nineties. For all the years, PRO-CONTROL has conducted comprehensive modernizations and extensions.

n 2012, PRO-CONTROL carried out the reconstruction of the control system of the “Podolszyce” Water Treatment Station in the scope of replacement of the automation system. The use of a modern automation system allowed for full control of the technological parameters of the treatment plant.

System description

Digital System:

  • SIMATIC S7-400H from SIEMENS Scope of implementation:
    1. Replacement of the SCADA system.
    2. Replacing programmable controllers, including:
  • Replacement of controllers and operator panels at the Intermediate and 2nd Stage Pumping Station;
  • Replacement of the controller of the Carbon Filters facility;
  • Replacement of the controller and panel of the Initial Ozonation facility;
  • Replacement of the controller of the Ozonation and Indirect Ozonation facility;
  • Replacement of the Trailigaz system controller;
  • Replacement of the controller of the Grabówka water intake facility;
    1. Connecting the Modicon sand filter controller to the new SCADA system;
    2. Connecting the GE Fanuc sand filters controller to the new SCADA system;
    3. Implementation of communication buses.

Summary

The programming work included:

  1. Configuration and software of all server computers.
  2. Enabling access to visualization on OS01 and OS02 computers from the level of all three operator stations of the Rectification
  3. Transfer of the Rectification control system to the newly created PCS7 system on server computers while fully maintaining the functionality of the original design.
  4. Connecting the WinCC visualization from the Alembik facility to the new PCS7 system – the scheme software has been included in the common configuration.
  5. Based on the existing CITECT software, creating an analogous visualization in the WinCC program for the Water Treatment Plant facility.
